The NEW DonaWHO?

Well, I decided today is a good day to kick things off so I kicked the cork out of mom. I am on the verge of popping out and shaking things up but felt obligated to give the p's a little forewarning; this is real, and I am on my way.

So the big questions are...who am I and what is my name? To tell you the truth, I'd prefer to keep it a surprise. I have been around for 30 plus weeks eavesdropping on all mom and dad's conversations and know that they have almost gotten things ready for my arrival. They're in the new house, they have the nursery set-up: toys, clothes, bottles, diapers, etc. If I spill the beans about my gender now, won't that allow them to get a little too comfortable? We don't want that now do we?

I will tell you this; I am pretty big and healthy. It is early according to doctors who say my due date is mid-April. But let me assure you-- NO FREAKING WAY. They'll be lucky if I wait until April Fool's Day. Being born on that day would be the ultimate trick!

Anyway, my brother sounds like a real character. I hear him ALL of the time asking questions about me and putting his hands on mom's belly to see if he can hear me. Pretty sweet. If my tear ducts were fully formed I would probably shed a tear. I can't wait to get out to see him. I don't think he realizes that I am going to be a part of this family as long as we live. Pretty heavy stuff for a 3 year old to grasp.

Another big question--names. As you can see by the name of this blog, Sonny was a real consideration when Jackson was sloshing around in here. Sounds like the name Jackson stuck with him so I have the option of using Sonny now. I like it. Because my dad's middle name is Patrick (after his uncle Pat, I think), I like that too. Thus, Sonny Patrick Donahue is a good possibility. Jackson's first name is technically Daniel (dad's first name) so we will both have part of our pappy's name, based solely on chronology.

IF I am a girl, there is no question. I will be Eleanor Bell Donahue. Elegant, classic and beautiful. My great-grandmother Donahue was Eleanor. She has been described as the sweetest person my dad ever knew. Mom didn't know her as long, but she wholeheartedly agrees. As for the Bell; Grandma Rose's maiden name was Bell. That name will not live on after her generation because there were no Bell sons born to carry it on into dad's generation. As a tribute to his uncle and the Bell family, I will take the name along with me for a few more decades of fun. Ellie Bell. Kinda cute don'tcha think?

Anyway, I am gonna do some more kicking for a bit and maybe a nap. I'll holler later (figuratively; obviously I cannot literally holler until my lungs are full of the outside world's oxygen) .

See you all soon!!!

Baby Dona-2.
